AutoRatesIQ.com provides an auto-insurance comparison and referral service. We collect information from consumers who request insurance options and may disclose that information to participating insurance providers, licensed agents, agencies, marketplaces, and other business partners that can respond to the request. We may receive compensation when a consumer is referred or when a lead is transferred.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:
- Contact and identity information: first and last name, email address, telephone number, date of birth, and similar identifiers.
- Location and address information: ZIP code, street address, apartment or suite number, city, state, postal code, and vehicle garaging location.
- Vehicle information: vehicle year, make, model, and primary vehicle-use information.
- Insurance information: whether you are currently insured, current insurer, length of continuous coverage, and related insurance-request details.
- Driver and eligibility information: valid-license status, accidents or tickets, DUI/DWI information, SR-22/FR-44 need, multiple-driver status, homeowner status, veteran/family-veteran status, and home/auto bundling interest.
- Internet and device information: IP address when collected by our server or vendors, browser and device information, user agent, referring page, landing-page URL, source/campaign identifiers, cookies or similar identifiers, and interaction data.
- Consent and compliance records: consent language shown, form/disclosure version, date and time, page URL, user agent, source information, opt-out or revocation records, and independent lead-certification identifiers or certificate information (such as TrustedForm or Jornaya/Verisk) where implemented.
How We Use Personal Information
- Process and respond to your insurance request.
- Match or route your request to participating insurance providers, licensed agents, agencies, marketplaces, or other partners.
- Communicate about your request and provide customer support.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the Site.
- Detect fraud, abuse, duplicate submissions, and other invalid activity.
- Measure advertising and campaign performance.
- Maintain consent, suppression, privacy-rights, and compliance records.
- Comply with law, contracts, legal process, and regulatory obligations.
Disclosure, Sale, and Sharing of Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to service providers that help operate the Site and to participating insurance providers, licensed agents, agencies, marketplaces, lead buyers, and related business partners that may respond to your request. Some transfers of lead information may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” under certain state privacy laws even when no money is paid directly for the particular transfer. Where applicable, you may opt out through our Privacy Choices / Do Not Sell or Share page.
We do not sell personal information to third parties for purposes unrelated to the insurance-request, advertising, analytics, or business purposes described in this Policy.
Marketing and Telephone Communications
If you separately provide consent at the final submission step, the participating insurance providers and licensed agents identified on our Marketing Partners page may contact you about your insurance request as described in that consent. Consent to marketing communications is not a condition of purchasing insurance. You may revoke consent or request to stop communications through reasonable methods, including replying STOP to applicable texts or asking a caller to place you on its do-not-call list.
Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate and secure the Site, remember preferences, attribute advertising, understand usage, and improve performance. Third-party analytics or advertising providers may process information under their own privacy terms.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have rights to access, know, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and appeal certain privacy decisions. Where legally required, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control once the production opt-out backend is configured to receive and enforce those signals.
Retention and Security
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including lead routing, contract administration, fraud prevention, consent verification, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and enforcement. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
The Site is intended for adults seeking auto-insurance information and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 through the insurance-request service.
Third-Party Providers and Partners
Third parties that receive information from us have their own privacy and security practices. Once information is provided to a participating provider, agent, agency, marketplace, or other partner, that party’s privacy policy governs its independent processing.
